Scenes from the weekend

I cannot believe we just had our last weekend in April.  Please tell me I am not the only one that puts off and puts off projects for the weekends, then the weekends roll around and you have no time.  I had 3 projects I wanted to tackle and lets just say that maybe next weekend I will have better luck.

Saturday morning we were up bright and early for the color run, which was so much fun...

But a little messy...
After the race I rush home, shower (still cannot get the red out of my hair) and we are just about to head back downtown for the Cardinals game when I look at the tickets.  Not sure how this happened, but we actually had tickets to the game Friday night which we completely missed.  Oops, I am not crazy, I had in my i-calendar we had tickets to the Saturday game.  Totally bummed because Friday night we were just chilling at home.

As I was anticipating, the palazzo pants are so comfortable.  I felt like I was wearing very cute and very stylish pajama pants Saturday night...

I did manage to squeeze in a little work this weekend...
then I was done.

Sunday night I just wanted to hunker down so I ended up watching this movie...

All I can say is go see this movie,  I laughed, I cried and I got the message, this story will make you believe in God.  This was a beautifully done movie open to many translations.  You can take the movie for face value, it is what it is or you can see the animals as a metaphor for human traits.  I love a good movie with a message that makes you think.

Happy Monday!!

They're Back

If you remember the 90's, you might recall rocking the wide leg pants, many times referred to as palazzo pants.  Well ladies, they are back.

These are hands down, probably the most comfortable cut and style of pants out there.  Depending on your mood you can dress these down with flats and a white t shirt for the boho look, or glam it up with heels and a blouse.  Here are a few of my favorites...

and from Nordstrom...

And here is the pair I picked up for myself yesterday.  I was just passing through the store on my way to the Nordstrom Cafe to meet a friend for lunch (one of my favorite lunch spots) and couldn't resist

I am thinking these will be perfect for a party we have Saturday night paired with this good old staple...

Scenes from the weekend

Another fun weekend for the books.

The members only restaurant we went to Saturday night, had me hooked by our appetizers so I immediately signed up to join the club...

I can't wait to hear back that I am in.  We had such a great time with our friends, the food was amazing...

but the atmosphere and the space is what sealed the deal.  Such a fun, upbeat, swanky place to dine...

Sunday I had a very pleasant surprise!!

When I got married I was still teaching, and one of my students, who was 10 at the time, was an AMAZING violinist.  He was already in the St. Louis Junior Symphony and had won several awards, so I asked Henry to play at my wedding.  He played the most beautiful, most perfect Joy of Man's Desire as my parents and the groomsmen walked in, and  Canon in D for the wedding party.  It shocked a lot of people that something so extraordinary was coming from a child.  He is all grown up, went to Juilliard, and now plays for the NYC philharmonic.  He was in STL over the weekend for a concert where is all started.  I have lost touch with him but I am a firm believer in fate.  My hubby just happen to see the blurb about him in the paper, the concert just happen to be less than a mile from my house, and I just happen to be free on Sunday....

This young man is brilliant, keep your eyes on him because he is going places!!

The last time I took a picture with him was my wedding day.

Girl Friday

Woot Woot it's the weekend!!  I am going to enjoy myself thoroughly this weekend since the fashion show is O.V. E. R.!!  The show was actually a great success, we raised lots of money, everyone had a great time, both my girls walked the runway, and I did my first gig as a mistress of ceremonies.

Now on to the weekend.

My friend and I are officially reinstating WOP (wine on porch) tonight!

Saturday the Junior League of St Louis is hosting a kitchen tour.  We go to 6 different homes to see their newly renovated kitchens.  I love these tours, you get a chance to see some really creative ideas, and most of these kitchens are nothing short of amazing.  A very good friend of mine has her kitchen in the tour, it is to die for!!!

Saturday night we are meeting friends downtown at a members only restaurant.  STL has totally embraced the whole, underground, members only, speak easy type of restaurants and bars.

Sunday, it is time to play catch up with...

Show Time

Today I am co chairing a fashion show at my daughters school for a benefit.  It has been really fun to pull outfits and create looks for our models

However, this show has consumed almost all of my time the last week.  I have a deep, new respect for working moms.  My house is a disaster, we have ordered pizza and take out almost every night, I have barely seen my hubby yet alone my kids, and I go to bed exhausted.  I realize with a fashion show most of the work is the 3 days before and you cannot really spread out the tasks, but working/being a mom is truly a balancing act.  Tonight, when it is all over I am coming home, pouring myself a big glass of wine, and chilling. (I will even catch up with all my blogs)
