Birthdays and Friends

This past weekend my mom celebrated her 7oth birthday. We had a surprise luncheon for her and her 10 closest friends. This party really hit home with me when I was sending out the invites. Some of these women have known my mom since grade school, some high school and some college. Some of her friends have moved away and some passed away, but for the most part, every person at the luncheon has been in my mom's life for all her greatest achievements. I realized how lucky my mom really is to have a great group of women she can call friends. With that being said, I knew I wanted to make this a special day. I spent thursday scouring the floral markets looking for bright and pretty flowers...
I came up with little vases for each place setting...
of course we had to serve the best cupcakes in town...

my sweet dad even surprised my mom during our party with a dozen roses...my mom, sister Jules and myself all smiles after a fabulous luncheon!!

Another fabulous birthday!!

  6. Aw...so sweet! Happy belated to your mom!

Just wanted to let you know, whatever you do, don't google Frank Lloyd Wright OR Mamah Cheney. It will ruin the entire story. The ending will blow you away! I have been obsessed with both since finishing the book.
