Life Lately

These past 2 weeks have hands down been pretty awesome!!

I spent 5 days in Miami on a girls tennis trip, but we managed to eat and drink like queens as well.

There were 40 girls from across the US and Canada (8 from my team in STL) to play some tennis, and yes did we play some tennis, 7-8 hours every day!!

The 40 of us were split into 4 teams and in addition to lessons we had a championship match,  my team snagged the title

it was not all work

I like to consider myself a foodie, I am constantly on the hunt for the latest and greatest wherever I am in term of restaurants.  Well, if you are ever in South Beach you MUST go to Tom Colicchio's (remember him from top chef) restaurant Beachcraft.  This will go down in my book as one of my best meals of all time!!

We also had to check out the scene at Fountainebleau

Everyone there was either a Miami Heat player, a Kardashian wannabe or a tennis player from STL


It was such a fabulous extra long weekend,  I spent most of the time laughing which is exactly why we go on girls weekends!!

2 days after I got back my oldest child turned 16, yikes!!

have to admit I kind of am loving having a driver



then we had Halloween

and now we are just enjoying the beautiful fall weather

This weekend we have an auction

I love waking up the morning after and realizing I paid 2 times the value of something I never wanted in the first place.

Freedom Weekend

This weekend one of my best friend's ex- husband is getting remarried.   She wanted the divorce, she is happy, she is dating someone new, but I still sometimes cannot wrap my brain around the fact that they are no longer a couple and as we like to quote Taylor over here, "they are never, ever, ever getting back together" (like ever)

Us girls need to stick together so we are having a little freedom celebration in honor of my friend, while across town there will be a wedding going on.  

Nothing but the best for my girl so we are starting with a brunch on the patio of The Four Seasons

and we are doing it up right.

There will be a tulle table runner

there will be centerpieces of all white flowers

there will be splits of prosecco for every guest

and there will be cake

afterwards we will hop in the pool and drink ourselves silly until the day is officially over

This weekend we are toasting to a lifetime of happiness, no matter how or where you find it!!

Girl Friday

Happy Valentine's Day weekend!!

Tonight my friend is having a galentine dinner with the girls so I made a sweet treat for all my lady loves

that I am going to package up with these

Saturday is also Mardi Gras weekend which is huge here in STL.  I have always had a thing for Mardi Gras, it is where the hubs and I met.  This year we have Valentine's Day and Mardi Gras both happening on Saturday, which happens once in a blue moon.  We have a Valentine/masquerade ball on Saturday night with "creative black tie" dress code.  I have my red dress in honor of V day and today I am on the hunt for something like this...

since I have red/pink on my mind can I just say how much I LOVE this dress that RiRi wore

now this dress I would kill to wear Saturday!!

That's a Wrap

I sound like a broken record over here but another week has flown by.  The majority of my time was spent planning a big birthday party next weekend for one of my besties, so excited !!

Our day will begin with brunch at a spa

then onto a wine tasting

then back to the cottage I have rented about an hour outside of STL, in the heart of our wine country

where we have a chef coming from the birthday girl's favorite restaurant to make a meal for us

It is going to be a great party (and I am not just saying that because I planned it)

I did manage to do a few other things...

finally tried the flat white everyone has been talking about 

it definitely has a more milky less coffee taste

and I got tickets to this show...

EVERYBODY is saying how amazing this show is and I HAVE to see it, well ok then.

Girl Friday

I can't believe it is the weekend again, this is what I love about summer no concept of time.  I am not completely adjusted to our new schedule of being able to be a little lazy but that will come.

Speaking of lazy we have a really lazy weekend ahead of us.  Tonight I am meeting a high school girlfriend for dinner and drinks..

It's going to be a beautiful day/night here so it will be next to impossible to get an outside table but I am sure going to try!!





Saturday I am meeting up with some friends for a home and garden house tour...

 I am so excited, I am giving my family room a face lift so I hope I get some good ideas.




Saturday night more dinner and drinks with friends....

and Sunday we are going to a picnic and I am bringing a dessert.  I am being super lazy by just whipping up a box of these...

but trust me, they are so good and so easy!

We had a very big weekend over here at chez beautiful,  Lottie had here very first trip to 6 Flags...

and loved every second of it


I now officially have a high schooler

and I am going to relish in the fact that at least for now I am the coolest mom because of this (and this is straight from the mouths of 14 year old boys)

I told my son how fortunate he is to have such a great group of friends, these will be his friends for life...

Monday I congratulated myself on a job well done with this

and I booked a little staycation here with one of my girlfriends

so glad it's summer!!
