Life Lately

These past 2 weeks have hands down been pretty awesome!!

I spent 5 days in Miami on a girls tennis trip, but we managed to eat and drink like queens as well.

There were 40 girls from across the US and Canada (8 from my team in STL) to play some tennis, and yes did we play some tennis, 7-8 hours every day!!

The 40 of us were split into 4 teams and in addition to lessons we had a championship match,  my team snagged the title

it was not all work

I like to consider myself a foodie, I am constantly on the hunt for the latest and greatest wherever I am in term of restaurants.  Well, if you are ever in South Beach you MUST go to Tom Colicchio's (remember him from top chef) restaurant Beachcraft.  This will go down in my book as one of my best meals of all time!!

We also had to check out the scene at Fountainebleau

Everyone there was either a Miami Heat player, a Kardashian wannabe or a tennis player from STL


It was such a fabulous extra long weekend,  I spent most of the time laughing which is exactly why we go on girls weekends!!

2 days after I got back my oldest child turned 16, yikes!!

then we had Halloween

and now we are just enjoying the beautiful fall weather

This weekend we have an auction

I love waking up the morning after and realizing I paid 2 times the value of something I never wanted in the first place.

Great Week to be Here

All in all the past week has been a great one to be in St. Louis.

We have had some beautiful days, so we took advantage and went soaring

then my oldest son had his very first homecoming

we hosted the pre dance dinner and it was so fun for the boys and their dates.

Monday night the Rams had Monday Night Football in town.  I am not a football fan but it was fun to be at the stadium and according to my husband MNF is a big deal!!

The cards are now officially out, but I love being in STL when the cards are in the playoffs

Wednesday my friend and I went to a runway show for St. Louis Fashion Week and I was blown away.  I went 2 years ago and it was OK, the event needed a little polishing, but this time I was completely impressed.  The overall night seemed so well put together, the space was amazing, and the 

clothes were spectacular.

Tonight the hubs and I are playing in a tennis tournament

and then on Sunday the hubs and I are off for a week

Girl Friday

TGIF, my husband always laughs when I say that.  I don't work so he thinks that every day is Friday for me.  I see his point entirely but still there is the rat race of getting the kids off to school and the after school activities stop over the weekend, so TGIF

Last weekend in Denver I went mountain biking and LOVED it, this morning I am meeting a friend and we are spinning for the first time

then this afternoon Dr. Beautiful has off so we have a date.

Saturday, I am the parent coordinator for my son's team, the coach has a conflict so I get to step in and be the coach for the tournament.  I am so excited, my son...not so much

Saturday night we are sipping mint juleps with friends

Christmas with the Girls

I rolled back in town yesterday, with a puppy in tow, just in time to shower and head out to my annual dinner/gift exchange with my tennis girls.  In addition to the holidays, we were also celebrating the fact that our team is currently ranked #1 for women's doubles in STL (woot woot)

For our exchange, everyone brought a $50 gift.  Sometimes it is hard to find a gift when you don't know specifically whom you are buying for but I think last night everyone went home with an awesome gift.  Here is what was in the loot...

The Bobbi Brown holiday eyeshadow palette.  I actually brought this gift and was not all that thrilled with it, but the girl who got this loved it.

The Kate Spade tennis bracelet (of course)

Ugg fingerless gloves, we are all going skiing in February so this too was perfect...

The best smelling lotion that is almost too pretty to use...  

The fragrance sampler from Sephora.  I have never heard of this until last night, but what a clever gift.  You get a box with 12 different perfume samples and a  gift card.  After you sample the perfumes, pick your favorite then take the card to Sephora for a full size bottle....GENIUS!!
