Pretty Little Things

This afternoon I am forcing myself to stay home and start wrapping presents.  A beautiful wrapping job can make a pair of socks even look fabulous.  All I need to see this come together is some Christmas tunes, a nice glass of pinot, and a little inspiration...

and if things get really crazy over here I might just make some pom-poms

Christmas with my Girls

Having a Christmas party with my friends was a great way to end my weekend, although it did make Monday morning a little rough.  In addition to eating and drinking we had a little gift exchange, everyone brought a $40 gift.  We played rob your neighbor with the gifts, but I could have gone home with any one of the them and would have been completely happy.

Birchbox snow day edition.  I thought this was so clever and fun.  It is sometimes hard to buy a present that everyone will like but this gift took care of that.  It had socks, hot coca, lipstick, scrabble, perfume and a few other surprises inside

All I Want For Christmas...

I know everyone is saying this and thinking this, but I cannot believe it is only 14 days until Christmas!!  

I am so not ready this year, I still have some final decorations to put up, shopping to do, presents to wrap, cookies to bake, and we are leaving for Mexico Christmas day so I have got to start thinking about what to pack.  My mom and hubby keep bugging me about what I want this year, it gets harder and harder.  I don't know if it is because when you have kids your focus is all about them and what they want, or maybe when you get older and you want something you just go buy it but either way I did finally come up with a few things I want...

I just love these but I can tell you right now my hubby will not be buying these for me, he already thinks my boot situation is out of control and he will not contribute to my madness so I will go ahead and ask my mom for these;)

Christmas with the Girls

Tonight I have my annual Christmas dinner with my girlfriends.  We have been doing this dinner for the past 7 years and I always look forward to this fun night.  We each take turn hosting, my friend Mandi is hosting tonight and we were each told to bring a bottle of our favorite champagne, an appetizer to share, and a $30 gift.

I am bringing a cava instead of a champagne, this one is my favorite and is about $12.00 a bottle.  If you ever see this in your store I suggest you buy it!!  (and of course drink it)

For my appetizer I relied on pinterest.  Mandi wanted to make sure we had some hearty apps so I decided on the sausage balls, I have never had these but how can sausage and cheese be bad!!

The hardest part was finding a gift, I had my mind made up that I was going to buy something at Nordstrom a couple weeks ago when I went to the Nordy's Christmas Party.  It was 10 points for every dollar you spent that night so it was a no brainer.  I had a few ideas when I showed up at the party...

Ultimately I ended up getting this..

and I am so excited, this necklace just flew out of the store and you cannot find it anywhere!!

Christmas with the Girls

I rolled back in town yesterday, with a puppy in tow, just in time to shower and head out to my annual dinner/gift exchange with my tennis girls.  In addition to the holidays, we were also celebrating the fact that our team is currently ranked #1 for women's doubles in STL (woot woot)

For our exchange, everyone brought a $50 gift.  Sometimes it is hard to find a gift when you don't know specifically whom you are buying for but I think last night everyone went home with an awesome gift.  Here is what was in the loot...

The Bobbi Brown holiday eyeshadow palette.  I actually brought this gift and was not all that thrilled with it, but the girl who got this loved it.

The fragrance sampler from Sephora.  I have never heard of this until last night, but what a clever gift.  You get a box with 12 different perfume samples and a  gift card.  After you sample the perfumes, pick your favorite then take the card to Sephora for a full size bottle....GENIUS!!
