One last hurrah!!

I know that Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow a couple weeks ago, so spring will be here soon.  That being said, Thursday I am getting my last winter fix and heading to Colorado with some friends for a ski weekend.  Mentally I am so ready for sandals, swimsuits and sundresses, but if you give me a snowy mountain and an irish coffee, I just love the freezing temps.

Today I need to start organizing myself for the trip.  My guidelines are warmth, layers and black...

and for going out at night; warmth, layers and black...

Bring on the snow!!

L-O-V-E

I hope everyone has plans today to spend some time with their sweetheart.  I have a rendez-vous with mine tonight downtown, for a little rooftop dining.  There is nothing I love more than getting all dressed up for a fancy night of dinner and drinks with my hubby.  Life has become so casual so I embrace every opportunity to put on heels and something sparkly!!

It's Valentines Day so go paint the town red!!

Love is in the air!!

I always love to give (and get) little gifts on Valentines Day to show my love.  Everyone has school today so I have the entire day to do a little shopping

For the hubs, some amazing smelling cologne...

or maybe a pair of shoes for an upcoming spring break trip...

but I think what he really wants is this...

13 year old boys are always impossible to shop for especially when you only want to give them something small.  Everything a teenager wants usually is some type of electronic, and usually hundreds of dollars.  Lucky for me, one of the "must have" item of the moment are the Nike elite socks  My son has 2 pairs and is constantly begging me to buy more.  Somebody at Nike knows what they are doing because not only are people willing to spend $18.00 on one pair of socks, these babies fly off the shelves...

Girls, so easy.  Either one of my girls would love this sweatshirt...
or this one...

and they would both love something like this...

Me, I am the easiest!!  I will gladly take this off J Crew's hands...

if the hubs gets new shoes for spring break, maybe I should too...

or I could wrap myself in the softest sweatshirt out there that I am completely obsessed with...

Ain't love grand??!!

 I mean she nailed it!!

Truth be told, I actually think I might love the wallpaper a tad bit more.

I left my heart in Paris

Our last day in Paris was bitter sweet.  I was so sad to be leaving, but was also excited for my first visit to Ireland.

Our last day we found ourselves visiting the sights on the northern tip of Paris.  This part of Paris is hilly....

but you have some amazing views at the top...

At the highest point in Paris you will find Sacre Coeur...

and probably what I find to be one of the most charming parts of the city, Montmartre...

Montmartre is also known as "artist square," all the starving artist set up shop in the center square and they will draw your portrait or you can buy some original pieces of art...
In the summer, every inch of the square is full of artists.

5 years ago I bought 2 ink drawings right here in the square and they are hands down my favorite pieces that hang on my walls (aside from my kids pictures of course)

after we strolled the streets of Montmartre...

it was time to head down, which is always much easier!!

In true Parisian form, we had a late 2 hour lunch at the most fabulous Italian restaurant..

then we headed back to our apartment to pack...
and drink

Our last dinner, my favorite restaurant in the world (that is a big claim to make)

we shut it down...

then onto a bar for our au revoir cocktail..

laissez les bons temps rouler!!
