Randomness

My sister has gone back to Detroit so things have calmed down for about a New York minute around here.  Tomorrow morning I am taking off for Michigan with the kids so I have some serious packing to do.

With my mind racing with what to pack, I also have random thoughts filling my brain.

I am kind of digging this new show.  I know women are upset that there is a show that glamorizes being a mistress, but I don't think this show makes it pretty at all.  In fact it is sad, lonely and pathetic but still good to watch

I made the slow cooker chicken philly sandwiches last week and they were delicious.  My sister and I are always joking that we need to create a board for pinterest called "Meals I made that taste like crap" this one would definitely NOT be on that board

I am obsessed with this Lilly cover up

My in laws just got a paddle board for the lake

so I had to pick up a new little outfit

My birthday is this Sunday, just a few small things I want...
this karaoke machine is the best, my friend has it and we spend hours and hours singing.  This playlist is endless and it is all current songs, not the best of Patsy Cline

I also need a new camera bag, this one keeps catching my eye.  No matter how you slice it a camera bag is big and bulky, but this one seems to do the trick and still looks a little stylish

Have a beautiful day!!

In Flight Amenities

Here are a few necessities to make an 8 hour flight as enjoyable as possible

A little hydration...

A cozy and comfortable sweater...

something to keep my feet warm...

A book I have been dying to read...

When I am tired of reading, I can drown out all the noise and listen to my music with my beats, borrowed from my son...

The first season of a show I have been told I MUST watch, all loaded up on my ipad...

I am addicted to these, so I have to bring them with me...

I cannot stand sleeping in my contacts, so I will put on my glasses if I feel sleepy...

a little something to make sure I am sleepy...

and the best face wipes to ensure I arrive in Paris all fresh faced and ready to go...

enjoy the flight!!

Come Fly With Me

I have a new, favorite show this fall and surprisingly it is not a reality show. I am hooked on Pan Am. This show follows the lives of pilots and flight attendants in the 60's when Pan Am was a global sensation, the employees led extremely glamourous lives, and flying was considered the ultimate luxury...
Before watching this show, I never gave much thought to 60's fashion. Now, I don't know what I am more excited about the story line, or the hair, jewelry and fashion...
I am smitten with the 60's look, so polished and put together...

they even look so glamourous at work...love the gloves...

my favorite character Bridget, whom I don't think is a regular, has such great style...
In the 60's, people actually got dressed to the nines when flying, today it looks like half the people on planes just rolled out of bed and schlepped to the airport..
the 60's brought us long, glamourous, iconic hair...
the birth of Lilly dresses...
the original supermodel Twiggy...
and the classic shift dress...and of course "Breakfast at Tiffany's"
Set your DVR!!

Picker Sister

Over the weekend, I was flipping through the TV and stopped on a show called "Picker Sisters." This is a reality show that follows 2 interior designer friends as they travel the country in search of junkyards. Once in the junkyard, they will dig through the piles and piles of junk in search of interesting pieces they can reinvent as furniture. It is really amazing what they come up with. I was instantly hooked but not because of the finished pieces, to be honest, their furniture is modern, unique, and definitely statement pieces, but they would look so out of place in my home, I was hooked because of one of the stars...Tracey Huston, not only is she stunning, but girl has style..
I kept watching because I wanted to see what she was going to wear next...

I can't wait to see what she wears next. You can watch Picker Sister on Lifetime.

Off to Target, it's Missoni time!!!
