Amazing!

We have been in our house for almost a year. The first year we spent making necessary repairs and improvements. Now is the fun part...decorating. An unofficial resolution I have is for my first floor to be completed by Christmas of 2011.
First up is my dining room. Last year I became obsessed with mural or chinoiserie wallpaper after I watched "Grey Gardens"
Here is Edith Bouvier's dining room from the movie...
and here are some shots of her bedroom.
I personally would put this paper in my dining room. This is way too beautiful to have hidden up in my bedroom.

The next 3 shots are from rooms I found via google.

I want to finish my dining room, then go back to working on my kitchen. I feel like I have ADD when it comes to decorating. I need to pick a room and do it from start to finish. I was on a roll last Fall with my kitchen then came to a stand still because I can't decide if I am going to paint my cabinets. Just some little projects to pass away Winter.

And if you have never seen "Grey Gardens" I highly highly recommend it. Edith Bouvier is THE original hoarder.

  5. Beautiful photos. I like the bedroom in the first google pic best...it's so feminine yet simple.

Have you seen both "Grey Gardens"? I prefer the documentary movie from the 70's but the Drew Barrymore version is great, too.

  9. I can totally relate to your decorating ADD, I have it to! I will buy things and tear ideas from magazines for different rooms in my house and then nothing ever gets completed entirely. Maybe that should have been my resolution!
