We have been in our house for almost a year. The first year we spent making necessary repairs and improvements. Now is the fun part...decorating. An unofficial resolution I have is for my first floor to be completed by Christmas of 2011.
First up is my dining room. Last year I became obsessed with mural or chinoiserie wallpaper after I watched "Grey Gardens"
Here is Edith Bouvier's dining room from the movie...
and here are some shots of her bedroom.
I personally would put this paper in my dining room. This is way too beautiful to have hidden up in my bedroom.

The next 3 shots are from rooms I found via google.

I want to finish my dining room, then go back to working on my kitchen. I feel like I have ADD when it comes to decorating. I need to pick a room and do it from start to finish. I was on a roll last Fall with my kitchen then came to a stand still because I can't decide if I am going to paint my cabinets. Just some little projects to pass away Winter.

And if you have never seen "Grey Gardens" I highly highly recommend it. Edith Bouvier is THE original hoarder.

  1. Dying to see that movie and that wallpaper is gorgeous!! I loooove it.

  2. I'm going to have to check this movie out! I love the wallpaper, especially the last one!

  3. Love the wallpaper! I have dying to wallpaper one of our bathrooms!

  4. I really like the style of that paper!!!!

  5. Beautiful photos. I like the bedroom in the first google pic's so feminine yet simple.

Have you seen both "Grey Gardens"? I prefer the documentary movie from the 70's but the Drew Barrymore version is great, too.

  6. I have seen Grey Gardens! I love wallpaper in general...That first bedroom picture is awesome:)

  7. Oh how I love these rooms! I think decorating a dining room similarly would look amazing. I love that movie too! xoxo

  8. I had wanted to see Grey Gardens forever and then must have forgotten about it, thanks for the reminder :-)
And I think Chinoiserie wallpaper would be beautiful in a dining room!

  9. I can totally relate to your decorating ADD, I have it to! I will buy things and tear ideas from magazines for different rooms in my house and then nothing ever gets completed entirely. Maybe that should have been my resolution!

  10. These are all beautiful, I love the pink one!
Thanks for the comment on my blog, I will follow you as well! Your family is just darling!
The piano piece you have playing is one of my favs and one that my son has spent the last few months learning to I was able to hear a lot of it! :) I NEVER tire of hearing it, it's just out-of-this-world beautiful!! :)
Your blog is lovely, Happy New Year!
