I Have The Golden Ticket!

Each December, Nordstrom hosts an "invitation only" Christmas party. The store closes early to get ready for the party. They bring in carolers, a catering company to prepare small bites, a hot chocolate station with any topping imaginable is ready and waiting, and wine and drinks are served as well. Nordstrom knows the best way to get women to spend money is to give them a little wine first.I love this party, I look forward to it every year. I even love the holiday shopping bags.
Nordstrom's decorations are so classy and so beautiful.

The icing on the cake, you get 10 points for every dollar you spend. If anyone has a Nordstrom charge, you know this is like giving away money!

What I really love about the night, is the 3 hours that I go shopping with my friends. When I was in my 20's I would spend hours upon hours at the stores with my friends just shopping, every weekend. 15 years and 3 kids later I do it once a year at the Nordstrom party. Just me, my friends, and some wine!

Let the holidays begin!!

Bieber Part 2

Last night, Libby and I headed downtown with about 10 other moms and 15 little girls for the Justin Bieber concert. That boy can dance!! He also self taught himself how to play about 6 different instruments. I think he is a great entertainer, and I have to admit he is not a bad singer. When Sean Kingston came out and they sang "Eenie meenie" the girls went crazy...
and this group of girls can scream....loudly!
Today I was fitted for my hearing aid.

It's The Weekend!

Is it just me, or is time flying by? I can't believe it is the weekend already!! We finally have a weekend here in town. Tonight we are just hanging at home with the kids, breaking open the bottle of Cakebread wine my friend just brought me back from Napa.

Saturday we have the first of our holiday parties. My friend likes to have her party early in the season so she can make sure there are no conflicts. It is guaranteed to be a great night...
which means I am guaranteed to have a headache Sunday morning!!

Have a happy weekend mes amies!!

Wish (lust) List

With Christmas on the horizon, I have been thinking about my wish list. I like to go big with my list, as Bethenny Frankel says "go big or go home."The classic Burberry trench
Outdoor furniture for our front porch
The IPad
with an Oscar de la Renta case
or DVF
or Gucci
and finally to have my closet custom designed. If anyone happens to talk to Dan, feel free to mention any or all of the above to him!

What's on your list?

Whirlwind Weekend

We had a busy, fun weekend. Friday afternoon we arrived in Chicago, checked into our hotel, then met up with my brother and sister in law for dinner. Saturday morning Dan and Matthew headed over to South Bend with his brothers and sister for the ND-Tulsa game, while Libby and I stayed in the city. Saturday I finally met my sweet blogger friend, Heather, IRL. We hit it off instantly and chatted like we had been friends our entire life. Heather is very tall and very stunning, people notice her when she walks into a room. She was so kind and funny. I was sad our time flew by, but I know that we will definitely get together again soon. We were laughing because my husband was teasing me about meeting an "internet" friend. I agree it does sound crazy to meet someone that way, but I knew that I had to meet her, since I was in Chicago, and I am so glad I did! After brunch, Libby and I headed back down to Michigan Ave. where our first stop was The American Girl Doll Store. Julie (the doll) got a new hairstyle.
and then they got some matching outfits. The boys made it back to the city about 8:30 then we headed out for some pizza. Sunday we were on the road early so we would be home in time for the Halloween festivities.

Our night started out at our neighbors for some pizza
and funny thing, my night ended at my neighbors with some chardonnay!

I hope everyone had a great Halloween

BOO!!
