Food, Snow and Football

Those 3 words just about sum up my weekend! I kicked off the weekend Friday night with a friend, a bottle of wine, and the best sushi in town!!We woke up Saturday morning to......you guessed it, more snow!!! We took the kids sledding on Art Hill, which is a long standing STL tradition. There is a huge hill in front of the art museum, how they got the name, just perfect for sledding. Anytime we have a major snowfall, Art Hill is packed with sledders, snow boarders, kids, grown ups, and dogs!
Here is my favorite artist rendition of Art Hill
With all the snow and snow days we've had this past week, a date night with Dan was in order. Saturday night we bundle up and headed out for dinner, drinks, and adult conversation.

Superbowl Sunday was the perfect excuse to indulge in more great food. We had some friends over to watch the game and drink some wine. I made these, which were absolutely delicious. In my book, anything from Southern Living is a definite winner. I used slider buns so they were a little bit smaller,
so I could make room for this... Spicy sausage dip
1 pound spicy sausage
1/2 c. sour cream
1/2 c. mayo
1/2 c. parmesan cheese
1 small jar of pimentos drained
5 green onions, chopped

In a skillet, brown the sausage. Drain the fat and transfer to a bowl. Mix in sour cream, mayo, parmesan, pimento and green onions. Place dip into a baking dish and bake at 350 for 30 min. Serve with triscuits, enjoy, and run an extra mile in the morning!!

  1. Yummy food! I love to make sloppy joes with cole slaw. We had cheese soup with sloppy joes during the game. :-)

Hope you had a great date night too!

  2. Sounds like the perfect weekend. I had sushi Friday night, too! So delicious!

Your spicy sausage dip sounds divine. I will have to make it sometime (I LOVE sausage!). I, also, agree with you about Southern Living. I don't think I've ever made a bad recipe. :)

I made the most wonderful shrimp and sausage stew for the game. I will post the recipe in the near future!

    Happy Monday!

  6. Voilà qui était un beau week-end! C'est bien lorsque c'est réussi.
Je suis seulement septique avec la nourriture que tu as photographiée... Sans doute parce que je ne suis pas habitué :-)
    Bonne journée, Jill!
