Life Lately

The running joke I have with the hubs since I don't work is "I have nothing to do and all day to do it" that could not be further from the truth.  I have managed to fill every minute of my day with something that keeps me out of trouble.

Last month the hubs and I went on our adult only spring break trip back to Costa Rica, and I appointed myself as our activities coordinator.

just as beautiful second time around.

We kayaked to remote beaches

We hiked with the monkeys

we took adventure bike tours

we took out the paddle boards

 we relaxed on the beach

had afternoon cocktails at our favorite spot

and all and all another amazing trip

If you are ever looking for a sunny vacation spot outside of the Caribbean, I highly highly highly recommend The Four Seasons at Papagayo, it was an unbelievable trip!!

As soon as I got back from our trip I was in full planning mode with my father in law, for my mother in law's 70th birthday.

I helped picked the venue

the birthday cake

the flowers

my friend and I were up until midnight the night before arranging the centerpieces (and drinking rose)

My mother in law was so surprised and had a great night

We also celebrated mother's day

so lucky, I got my trampoline

Had a dance recital

After wanting to go for 2 years, finally made it about 45 minutes outside of the city to Claverach Farm.  This is what started the farm to table implode here in STL.

We had a driver take us to the farm, we arrived for cocktails just as the sun was setting

When it was time for dinner we sat at farm tables inside a converted barn and it was just beautiful.

Everything on our dinner plate was fresh off the farm,  we were out with some of our best friends, we were slightly over served, and I found the perfect photo op for my new clutch.

And now we are in full summer mode.
school is out

the pools are open

And all is right with the world!!

Surprise!!

I love waking up and seeing that Kate Spade has another surprise sale.  The good news, great markdowns.  The bad news, most of this will be sold out before noon!!

I love a cute clutch, for some reason I tend to use a clutch Friday and Saturday nights in the summer.  Maybe it's the heat and I don't want a strap hanging off me, maybe it's because I tend to have extra large purses and they just seem too big and heavy for the summer, maybe there is no reason at all, maybe as the husband says I just need some excuse to buy another purse....

the absolute cutest clutch ever....

I never get tired of the shoppers and their clever sayings....

I always have some jewelry pieces on hand in case I need an emergency birthday gift for a friend, or an emergency accessory dilemma for myself...

finally, this top is just too darn cute!!

Happy Shopping

Who's Your Mama

I just got back from a week in Costa Rica so I am not expecting the moon this mother's day, but I do have a few things on my list...

You know it is summer when the Bobbi Brown counter is overflowing with Beach.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE the body oil, it hydrates, smells so good, and has staying power.

Yes, this was taken from the Kate Spade idea book, but I am loving this oversized conversation clutch from Banana Republic.

I know this is the lingering aftermath of being in Costa Rica where these bracelets were everywhere, but I feel that more is definitely more with these babies, and that is a good thing.

I have these Kate Spade stud earrings in bright yellow and they are the perfect everyday earring.  Small, lightweight and a burst of color.  Now I just need a different color (good thing I have 13 colors to choose from)

It wouldn't be mother's day without a bloody mary brunch, right??!!

And finally, I would love one of these in my back yard.

technically a gift for the kids, but if they are happy then I am happy!!

Staples

Summer is right around the corner and here are just a few staples that we all need to pick up ASAP!!

New beach bag
By the end of each summer my beach bag is dirty, caked with sand, and pretty much destroyed.  Showing up to the pool on opening day with a brand new bag is like showing up on the first day of school in new clothes, it's a must!!
I picked this Lilly bag up last month in Florida and it was $20.  Now technically it is a market bag but it is thick, water resistant and oh so cute so I am taking it to the pool.

If you are feeling adventurous Sunday morning and want to wake up at 6am, stand in a crazy line for 2 hours before Target opens, then hope to God you don't get trampled to death you can find this cute Lilly for target bag

and as long as you are there, throw in this cute cover up

Also on my summer staple list is my summer lip stick.  I keep hearing "Dior Addict" and then my sister in law was wearing it in your basic color over the weekend, I mean my search is over.   It is the perfect color for summer

Watermelon Juice
You. Must. Drink. This!!

It is hydrating, delicious, low calories, sugar free, and pure juice from watermelons.  Something tells me this is also pretty tasty with a splash of vodka.

This seems a little random, but my girl Ina knows her stuff, it is so light and refreshing and its a staple sandwich in France.  If it's good enough for the French it is good enough for me

Birkenstocks

Full disclosure, I am really not a Birkenstock girl.  I have never taken to the grunge look, however these new, fresh metallic birks have actually gotten me to waiver, kind of.  I am not ready to invest around $200 for shoes that I do not LOVE, but I will fork over $30 for the target knock offs

celebrities are so on board with this....

I have to admit, the most comfortable walking shoe around!!

Easter Tablescapes

Every year around Easter time I tell myself I should put up some spring decorations and every year I just draw a blank.  Hanging a bunny on my front door really isn't my style and what else is there??

umm how about flowers!!

Today I am going to the farmers market and let my creative juices flow.  My plan is create something just fabulous for my table for Easter, thank goodness for pinterest.  I do love the special touch of adding something seasonal to my flowers.

candy

plastic eggs

fruit

and the best thing I have seen with carrots and asparagus in a long time

and if this still does not help you, take a class at your local florist.

We are all ready to go here.
