Last week was the first time I had been to Colorado during the summer. We are all ski bunnies over here so typically we go during ski season. I have to admit Vail is just as fun in the summer as in the winter. We never ran out of things to do and there is just something about being in the mountains on a beautiful summer day that makes you crave the outdoors and all it has to offer. In STL it is usually 95 degrees by 10 am so they only thing you can do outside is go to the pool, in Vail the high was 80 degrees, perfect for spending your days outdoors.
Of course we did hit up the pool at few times at our resort. I loved seeing the ski runs right past the pool...
Every morning I would run along the bike path following Gore Creek...
The morning of the wedding I took the kids to the Vail Village while the hubs was off doing best man duties, we found a volvo made entirely of legos, it was really cool...
We took a horse back trail ride that went through a cattle range then up and back down a mountain...
We spent a day zip lining and white water rafting, for obvious reasons I did not have my camera or phone...
skipped some rocks...
and enjoyed the beautiful scenery...
Looks like such a great time. I've only been to Colorado during ski season and you make me want to go right now. My boys would be in heaven (so would I)! That lego car is way cool.
ReplyDeleteLOVE Vail. We were just there over Memorial Day and I can't wait to go back. Looks like you guys had an amazing trip!

My brother lives on a river in Vail. When you're sitting in his living room you can see it from the window and hear the water rushing by. Kinda jealous because all I hear from my living room is horns and sirens. :-)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great trip!! I love to ski but Rich has never gone.
Can't wait to see you next week Wednesday!!!! What time do you get in?
Looks like you packed quite a bit into your trip!! Lovely photos:)

ReplyDeleteWhat a great trip. I love all of the great outdoor activities you were able to enjoy. I definitely want to try and make it to Colorado in the summer now!
ReplyDeleteOh what an amazing trip! My mom and step-dad just recently moved back to TX from CO this year. They had lived there for only two and a half years, and while there, we did get to ski, drive around the mountains (one time we saw a black bear) and visited the local wineries. My husband did go fishing and golfing with my step-dad but I felt like if they had been there a tad longer we would've done a few more adventurous activities. I already miss visiting CO!!
ReplyDeleteI love Colorado. I have not been in 3 years. I have been in the summer and fall and you are right it is gorgeous and fun in the summer! Loved seeing all your pictures!
