Good Bye 2014

We had another fun filled Christmas that went by way to fast.  If I am being honest 2014 went way to fast.

This time of year is always filled with a little excitement; new year, new start, new chance to reinvent yourself and a little melancholy because time marches on.  I think this is greatly intensified once you have children and you see them grown up right before your eyes.

So if you are feeling a little blue I have a way to snap you out of it...

go shopping, the sales are insane!!

Hello December

So Thanksgiving just flew by and now we are less than 2 weeks until Christmas, how did that happen??!!

I completely overbook myself and kids the months of November and December and I absolutely love it.  There is so much to do this time of year, we can rest in January.

I hung out with my guy Andy Cohen

kicked off the Christmas season with tea at the Ritz

trimmed the tree

checked out the activities around town

did our annual big bear brunch

decorated gingerbread houses

watched my kids dance

sing

act

and play

  Been to plenty of work parties for the hubby

and my favorite shopping party for me

I've done the cookie exchange

and we have already been to 2 breakfasts with Santa

We still have so many activities,

 and I am saving the best for last

The Nutcracker

with a pre show tea with the cast mastes

wild lights at the zoo

my annual girls Christmas dinner and gift exchange

the BEST breakfast with Santa in the city

Holiday brunch at American Girl Doll

and Christmas Eve dinner at our house



But before Christmas I have the 1 final activity that I am not looking forward to at all

Making My List

At any given moment someone can ask me what I want for Christmas, and without hesitation I can ramble off my list.  I like to think of myself as a planner, this girl knows what she wants!!

In the Mood

So spending a few days at Silver Dollar City has totally put me in the holiday spirit.  Christmas lights  everywhere,  Santa, carolers strolling, mulled cider, and no scrooges anywhere!!

This is as close to story book perfect that you are going to get. 

My recent visit, plus the case of Cakebread 2006, anderson valley pinot noir I scored, added with the snow that is coming on Saturday has definitely got me in the mood.  

But I can't over look Thanksgiving, we have so much to be Thankful for and it really is one of my favorite holidays.  I spent the afternoon picking up a few things for our house this thanksgiving.

and I could not resist this...

An absolutely adorable plate to serve the absolutely disgusting cranberry sauce from a can.
The hubs has one request each Thanksgiving, I put a can of cranberry sauce in the fridge 1 week before Thanksgiving just for him.  He likes it good and cold, and would like it to slide out of the can in one piece so he can see the ridges from the can.

Yeah we all know what I am talking about.
