The Weekend Past
Another weekend has come and gone! Friday night I braved the cold and the massive crowds to score some deals at a warehouse sale, and there were many deals to be had. I think the one I am most excited about is this....The House of Harlow ring I was just blogging about last week, all mine for $15.

The Weekend
Tonight, some friends and I are heading out for a big warehouse sale. Many local boutiques are making way for Spring/Summer clothing, so they all come together under 1 roof and discount everything 75-90%. This is a great time to score some incredible deals, but you need to be prepared for complete and utter mayhem. After we do our marathon shopping we always take the edge off (and show off our purchases) with a bottle of wine!
Saturday night we have a party downtown...
dueling pianos! Not really sure what to expect but I hear it is fun, and they serve wine!!

Sunday night we are having both sides of the family over for little Miss Scarlett's birthday party!
Cheers to a happy weekend!!

Talk Soup
In honor of the bitter cold weather and many snow days we have had the last couple of weeks, my friend decided to embrace Winter and have a soup luncheon today.Everyone is coming out of hibernation today to gossip, catch up, and sample 5 different types of soup. I think this is a perfect idea for the dead of Winter!!

Snow, snow go away!!
We have had nothing but cold and snow here lately ........over the weekend I was out shopping and decided that, despite the fact that it was 7 degrees outside, it was time to start thinking about the summer. My first official summer purchase of 2011 is the floppy sun hat......
only 125 days till the pools open!

Monday, Monday
Hello, hello I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!
Despite the freezing temperatures and snow we managed to have a great weekend. Friday night was dinner with the kids and 5 other families (complete chaos but so much fun) and Saturday night we had a birthday party for one of our friends. Too much wine and too much dancing!!
Chocolate Pear Tart
1 stick of butter
1 c white almonds
3/4 c sugar
3 eggs
2/3 c cocoa
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp almond extract
2 cans of pears in syrup
2 tbsp apple jelly
Preheat oven to 350, and brush a 9 inch removable bottom tart pan with butter.
In a food processor combine almonds and sugar. Process until smooth, add butter, eggs, cocoa, vanilla, salt and slmond extract. Spread into the pan.
Slice the pears and arrange on top of the chocolate crust, overlap the pears. Bake 45-50 minutes. Heat jelly on the stove and brush on top of the pears when the tart comes out of the oven. enjoy
This is a great dessert for when you have last minute dinner guests, so easy and so quick
Bon appetit!

What a coincidence!
I just had to post this picture. My latest Lucky magazine arrived in the mail yesterday, and on the cover was my gal Nicole whom I just blogged about on Wednesday.....and in the magazine she is wearing the Marc Jacobs dress that I was ranting and raving about from when Heidi Klum wore the exact dress to the Golden Globes!
I was right, that dress is amazing!!!
How bout that!!!

Oh yes!
In my opinion, the best thing Nicole Richie ever did was dump Paris Hilton, and start her own jewelry and clothing line.
I got this ring from her House of Harlow jewelry line and I just love it.
Here is the fabulous coordinating cuff....
I love this vintage, art deco ring, and at $35 how could anyone resist this!
Another fabulous "statement" ring
and last but not least the "cluster ring". I have never seen a ring quite like this, I think it would look amazing on my middle finger. In addition to her jewels, she also started her clothing line, Winter Kate. Her look is very boho gypset.

Ahh, thanks!!
Last week, I was tagged by fellow St. Louisian, prissy and preppy flamingo. Check out her cute blog, she is a daily read of mine, Thanks!! I have to share 7 things about me.......
1. I have a birthday coming up this year that I am NOT looking forward too...at all!!!!
2. January of 2009 I had a broken foot, I fell while 8 months pregnant playing tennis.
3. I have said this so many times before, but I must say it again.... I will some day live in Paris again, and I will also own my apartment. This is a picture from one of my favorite restaurants in Paris. One we always make sure to have dinner when we are in the city of lights. This is from a couple years ago, Dan and I went over for our anniversary and my brother in law, Jerry, was living in Paris at the time.
4. I have a problem with shoes..and handbags. They just seem to multiply in my closet.
5. Despite what the critics say, I LOVED Heidi Klum's look at the Golden Globes.
6. I watch way too much reality TV, so much that I find myself actually convincing others that it is all real.
7. When Dan is at work I scour the internet looking for a dog. I keep going back to a yellow lab, which was our dog Ziggy....
or a Coton de Tulear, which would fit oh so nicely in my purse.

Welcome to Rocheport!
Population 208..This past Friday, Dan and I took off for a little weekend getaway. We arrived at our destination, Rocheport, early Friday evening.
After we checked in, Dan did a little reading up on our town..
while I unpacked.
Friday night we had our first cooking class,
It was absolutely delicious!
On the weekends, the general store is also the local bar once 7 pm rolls around. After dinner, we walked down the street to hear the band and have a night cap.
Saturday morning we took a little hike through the woods,
we checked out the antique stores in town, where I found some great things!!
Saturday afternoon we had a tour of the local winery, a wine tasting, and somehow, a case of wine!
After an afternoon nap, Saturday night we cooked another delicious dinner, then went back to the local bar. We are now officially bar flies are the Rocheport General Store and Bar.
It was such a nice, quiet, and relaxing weekend. A much needed getaway to recharge our batteries.
Time to plan another trip!!
