This and That

I cannot believe the school year is over in less than 2 weeks!!  I for one am ready for the end of the morning rat race, the homework, and the after school activities.  I am ready to spend my days lounging poolside and my nights sipping cocktails on my deck!!

The end of the school year also means that us moms are really busy.  There is always so much to do with our kids before the school year ends, I have hardly anytime for anything else.

Monday night I did have a chance to make this healthy banana chocolate chip bread and it was amazing

my family gobbled the entire loaf for breakfast on Tuesday morning.

My oldest child is graduating 8th grade (yikes) so I have been busy planning a party for a bunch of 14 year old boys.  We have decided to do a burger bar

as a surprise for all the boys we also have a game truck coming

Today I am letting my daughter skip school so we can have a special day.  On her to do list..

and

I have my book club (wine club) tonight and we are discussing one of the many great books I have read recently

and finally my daughter was so busy on Mother's Day making me bath products.

Hand made gifts are the BEST, plus girl knows the way to my heart!!

Girl Friday

My in laws are spending Christmas in Michigan and we will be in Mexico, so tonight we are having an early Christmas celebration with them

I actually think this works great with kids.  Stagger out the gifts, some years when the kids open all their presents on the same day they are overwhelmed and don't touch half of them.  This year they will have round 1 of gifts tonight and round 2 Christmas morning.

Saturday morning we have our annual breakfast with Santa

I have promised to make cookies so my kids can decorate them...

they literally ask everyday.

Sunday we have another breakfast with Santa

 at my daughter's school

a Christmas piano recital by my 2 older kids

then I am hosting our annual Christmas with the Girls.  I have 12 friends coming over for dinner and a gift exchange

I swear, girlfriends give the best gifts...

my friends always know exactly what I want!!

So Little Time...

I am a list person.  I like to write out my to-do list or type one in the "notes" section of my phone.  There is something about crossing off or deleting a line that is so satisfying.

Right now I am working on a list title "Before End of School", this is mainly projects around the house because once the kids are home nothing gets done until September.  Some of my unfinished items include

* finish organizing the laundry room

*get guest bedroom walls painted

*hang pictures

(many more but this gives you an idea)

very vague, but nonetheless still things that need to be done.  Tomorrow is the last day of school, you would think that I would be crazy lady working on her list but no I am busy making another list, my wish list from here...
