Scenes From the Weekend
Friday night Dan and I headed out for a party. I had to included this photo so I could give a shout out to Grant, my hair dresser. He gave me the keratin treatment about 2 weeks ago and I love it. I was running around all day Friday, I washed my hair and let it air dry, it looked like I flat ironed it. Grant you are a life (and time) saver. I am also wearing 1 of the 3 necklaces I bought Thursday night but that is an entirely new post!!
Saturday morning, Libby and I headed out for the Big Bear Brunch..
This was the scene at the Grand Ballroom when we walked in.
Libby decorated Christmas cookies for all of us.
And of course the we had a reindeer made from a balloon. ( umm, yeah)
We went from the brunch straight to the recital...
no one missed a beat!
Saturday night Dan and I were off to cooking class.
It was delicious. I know the presentation is awful, but it tasted so good!
Sunday, Libby and I headed down town to see the Nutcracker. We got a quick photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus before the show.
Sunday night ended with a much need girls night out of eating, drinking and shopping at Nordstroms.
I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

Nutcrackers and Nordstrom
I am definitely getting all my Libby time in this weekend. This afternoon we are going to see the Joffrey Ballet preform the Nutcracker. I remember seeing this ballet every December growing up with my mom and sisters.
This ballet is at The Fabulous Fox Theatre. This venue is so beautiful and so ornate. The deep red velvet and gold leafing and detail work is beyond amazing. It will take your breath away.
After the ballet is the long awaited, coveted, Nordstrom Christmas party.
I will spend too much money, eat too much food, drink too much wine, but I will never tire of Lisa Evan's images she designs for Nordstrom. So beautiful.

A Day at the Races
That is how I feel today will be. Libby and I are starting off our day at the "Big Bear Brunch" at the Ritz Carlton.
This is our 5th year going to the brunch. This is such a fun holiday tradition. We decorate cookies, make ornaments, visit with santa, and of course have a 5 star brunch in the grand ballroom.
After brunch we are off to Matthew and Libby's piano recital. They have been working on their holiday songs non-stop the past 2 months. I can't even think because all that is ever running through my head is "We Wish you a Merry Christmas"

Saturday evening, Dan and I are taking a hands on cooking class together.
Our menu for the night is.....
Crab cakes with chipotle aioli, spinach salad, porterhouse steak with caramelized onion gravy, homemade French fries, and creme brule. They serve wine at this class, so that will about do it for me!!

Quack Quack
I am sure you all remember the classic duck boot. At one time or another we all wore these.
Well, Mr. Tommy Hilfiger has put a new spin on the classic duck boot...
The over the knee duck boot....
The duck bootie.....
and the always impeccable Olivia Palermo showing us how to do it right. She always looks so fabulous (and having a handsome man on your arm doesn't hurt)

Caroling, Cocktails and Jewels
Tonight, with Libby and her Brownie troop, I will be Christmas caroling.
As a child, I remember going caroling every year. I also remember our doorbell ringing, and a group of people on our front porch singing "Silent Night." I didn't really think people did this anymore, but if you live in STL and your doorbell rings around 6 pm be sure to answer!!

My Uber-talented friend is showcasing some jewelry she had made. She loves to use feathers in many of her pieces. Each piece is one of a kind, and a show stopper, nothing is mass produced.
I really need to come up with a talent!!
