Le weekend

I love it when you start off the weekend with really no plans, then end up having a great, fun weekend. That is how my weekend went.

Friday afternoon, I called one of my friends and had her, her hubby, and 2 girls come over Friday night for pizza and wine.
Lucky for me my friend is a huge champagne drinker, so she also came with a bottle of bubbly!
Saturday, Dan and I had dinner reservations, just the 2 of us, at one of my favorite French restaurants. As the day went on, we kept inviting more and more friends to join us. By 10pm, there were 10 of us dining on pomme frites, les escargots, les salades, et les fromages.
I think the last minute plans always turn out to be the best!! An unexpected night!!

Sunday, Dan busted out one of his Christmas gifts, the super smoker......
and cooked up this yumminess for us!!
Happy Monday

Amazing!

We have been in our house for almost a year. The first year we spent making necessary repairs and improvements. Now is the fun part...decorating. An unofficial resolution I have is for my first floor to be completed by Christmas of 2011.
First up is my dining room. Last year I became obsessed with mural or chinoiserie wallpaper after I watched "Grey Gardens"
Here is Edith Bouvier's dining room from the movie...
and here are some shots of her bedroom.
I personally would put this paper in my dining room. This is way too beautiful to have hidden up in my bedroom.

The next 3 shots are from rooms I found via google.

I want to finish my dining room, then go back to working on my kitchen. I feel like I have ADD when it comes to decorating. I need to pick a room and do it from start to finish. I was on a roll last Fall with my kitchen then came to a stand still because I can't decide if I am going to paint my cabinets. Just some little projects to pass away Winter.

And if you have never seen "Grey Gardens" I highly highly recommend it. Edith Bouvier is THE original hoarder.

January Blah's

January is always somewhat of a let down. In our house, September through December is so busy and so much fun. However, one of the perks of January are the great sales. Back in December I was at the Nordstrom Christmas party and acquired some "notes" this week I cashed the notes in for this...The Clarisonic Mia. I have heard nothing but fabulous things about this cleansing system, I decided to give it a try. Now, this not intended to replace my facials, sometimes we just need a little extra something.

Also, I had my eye on the "Kate Spade Frosted Felt Market Tote" I should of dropped a bigger hint to my hubby for Christmas, but it all worked out. I scored the last one at our Kate Spade store and it was on sale to boot!
Seriously, how cute is this purse (and the baby is a cutie too)!

Disturbia!

I finally had a much needed night out with my friends. We had dinner, then saw a movie.
Ummm, this was so creepy!! Oh, and I am making Libby drop out of ballet if this is what can happen.

Please give this girl an oscar!!

Tonight is the last night, we will have our tree up. Tomorrow when the kids are back in school I will be packing away the decorations until next year.It was a great Christmas. The first, of hopefully many many more in our new home!

Resolutions

This year I am being very realistic and honest about my resolutions. First up is to read more, and my husband said magazines and catalogues don't count!
I have no excuses since I got this from Santa. I have already downloaded 3 books.Next up is a resolution I made 5 years ago, and I can honestly say this one has never been broken.

Monthly facials
and mani's and pedi's.

I think a little pampering is good for the body and the soul!!

Running, I run almost every morning, but this year I really want to run the half marathon...who's with me!!
Going to the doctor. It has been years since I have had a physical. I need the works.. a full body physical, a mammogram, a mole check, bone density, and stronger contacts.
Going to church. I actually go every Sunday but let's face it, I spend more time looking for my friends and thinking about where we are going to brunch afterwards.
More date nights with this man..
more quality time with these 3 peanuts
Here's to the new year!!
