Girl Friday

I am looking forward to what feels like our first official fall weekend, there is finally a chill in the air here today.

I can't wait to see this movie tonight with my girlfriends, the book was so good and it was filmed in the small Missouri town where it takes place

I am bringing out an old favorite for tonight

and I have been dreaming about my dinner after the movie

it will be the perfect temp for dining outside (a little chill in the air but once they get the fire pits going it will be just perfect) and eating the best artichoke in the world.

Saturday afternoon,  just a little pampering

and trying out a new restaurant

and Sunday if the weather cooperates, we will be doing this

not sure if I am being adventurous or a fool!!

Have a beautiful weekend

Girl Friday

TGIF, my husband always laughs when I say that.  I don't work so he thinks that every day is Friday for me.  I see his point entirely but still there is the rat race of getting the kids off to school and the after school activities stop over the weekend, so TGIF

Last weekend in Denver I went mountain biking and LOVED it, this morning I am meeting a friend and we are spinning for the first time

then this afternoon Dr. Beautiful has off so we have a date.

lunch

then an exhibit at the art museum that we are both dying to see

Saturday, I am the parent coordinator for my son's team, the coach has a conflict so I get to step in and be the coach for the tournament.  I am so excited, my son...not so much

Saturday night we are sipping mint juleps with friends

and Sunday I am seeing this movie with my girl

Have a beautiful weekend!!

Scenes from the weekend

I cannot believe we just had our last weekend in April.  Please tell me I am not the only one that puts off and puts off projects for the weekends, then the weekends roll around and you have no time.  I had 3 projects I wanted to tackle and lets just say that maybe next weekend I will have better luck.

Saturday morning we were up bright and early for the color run, which was so much fun...

But a little messy...
After the race I rush home, shower (still cannot get the red out of my hair) and we are just about to head back downtown for the Cardinals game when I look at the tickets.  Not sure how this happened, but we actually had tickets to the game Friday night which we completely missed.  Oops, I am not crazy, I had in my i-calendar we had tickets to the Saturday game.  Totally bummed because Friday night we were just chilling at home.

As I was anticipating, the palazzo pants are so comfortable.  I felt like I was wearing very cute and very stylish pajama pants Saturday night...

I did manage to squeeze in a little work this weekend...
then I was done.

Sunday night I just wanted to hunker down so I ended up watching this movie...

All I can say is go see this movie,  I laughed, I cried and I got the message, this story will make you believe in God.  This was a beautifully done movie open to many translations.  You can take the movie for face value, it is what it is or you can see the animals as a metaphor for human traits.  I love a good movie with a message that makes you think.

Happy Monday!!

Girl Friday

Not only has another week flown by, I cannot believe it is February!!

Tonight I am having some friends over for a little salad and a lot of wine.  These are fellow moms at my son's old school, I have not seen these ladies in awhile so we have some catching up to do...

Saturday we have another auction...

this one is at my son's school, and the theme is "Kentucky Derby"...

because of the theme, ladies are encouraged to wear hats.  I have a hat, I am just not sure if I want to wear it.  First off it is 20 degrees in STL, maybe it is just me but I think of the big derby hats as something you wear in the summer, and second I look ridiculous in the big brimmed hats so I ended up getting more of a fedora looking hat.  There was a "hat lady" who came to the school, she had hats you could buy or she would make one to coordinate with your outfit, I was going to skip the whole hat idea but she convinced me to get the fedora.  I am just not a big "theme party" person unless of course it is Halloween.

I am however, excited about my outfit...

This is a Rachel Roy and I must admit she is becoming one of my favorites, all of her pieces seem to have a little something unexpected!!

Sunday is a big day for football but instead I am going to dinner....

then to the movies with one of my girlfriends...

Bon Weekend, mes amies!!

Baby it's cold outside!!

When you have a weekend like this.....It's best just to stay indoors and hunker down. We had a cold and bitter weekend, perfect for reading books and watching movies

First up was Contagion. I loved this movie and I love that it was an all star cast. Trust me if you are the slightest bit of a germaphobe you should NOT watch this movie. I love how the entire movie comes full circle the last minute. Definitely put this in your movie que...
Sunday afternoon I watched Blue Valentine. A really dark and depressing movie about lost love and lost dreams, but nonetheless really good. The movie itself is not a real pick me up, but Ryan Gosling sure is...

A friend gave me this book to read while I was on vacation last month, and I can honestly say this is one of the few books I have read in a long time that I could not put down. This is the story of 2 girls that are orphaned from the tsunami of 2005 and how they are kidnapped for human trafficking. I know the book itself is fiction, but using girls as sex slaves and drug mules unfortunately is a horrific reality...

This book is waiting patiently for me on my nightstand...I keep hearing buzz about "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" so I decided to go ahead and order it. It arrived the other day and I cannot wait to start reading. Go and watch the video clip here and let me know what you think, kind of creepy!!

Sex and my city

I know, I am a day late and a dollar short but I finally got around to seeing Sex and the City 2. I would of seen it last weekend but I had a wedding in Chicago. I really liked it, I didn't love it. I loved, loved, loved the first one. This one, I liked. I did however love, love, love the clothes. On a side note, I am pretty sure if I cheat on my hubs I am NOT getting a big diamond out of the deal
