Girl Friday

For the next 24 hours I will have to be a crazy dance mom.  My daughter is in a local dance competition, and yes some of those moms are as ridiculous as they are on the show "Dance Moms".    If you have never seen this show consider yourself lucky, if you have a daughter just wait, soon enough this show will be constantly on.

We are packing up and heading downtown to the hotel where the competition is being held just to make life a little easier (plus I am working on that mother of the year award)

I have a friend who is also a "dance mom" and we have plans to meet here for a glass on wine once are girls are settled in for the night

Then on Saturday for 11 hours straight I will be watching dance competitions!!

Saturday night I am high tailing it out of there and off to my friends annual paddle tennis party

Paddle tennis is kind of like tennis but smaller, the courts are smaller, the ball is smaller, the rackets are smaller,  you can play off the fence, and we will be playing outside in the 13 degree night air.

My friend has added her rule, a round of this after every match!!

Sunday is my friends birthday and since we will all be out paddle tennising the night before we have a little rehab/birthday/bloody mary brunch planned

Something tells me I will be asleep by 8PM Sunday night!!

Scenes from my Weekend

My weekends of travel are officially over until Christmas!!  Despite the crazy weather we had in this part of the country, we had a great weekend.

Thursday I was planning on spending the day at Silver Dollar City but it just poured and poured and poured so we came up with plan B, a rodeo

Dolly Parton (yes, you read that right) has a rodeo in Branson

She owns some of the biggest, most beautiful horses I have ever seen
Of course no photos in the rodeo, but it was really a great show.  It was a Christmas show with Santa so I think it softened the blow for my girls who were so disappointed we never made it to Silver Dollar City.

I am in LOVE with the bathroom sink, it looks like a watering trough and would be perfect in my laundry room

Friday I made it back to the Lou just in time for dinner

Saturday was my little staycation with some friends, we started with a food tour of the Central West End.
We stopped by 5 restaurants for a sampling of their best dish and best cocktail
Dressel's Public House

I love this place, it has the first urban garden
and the cutest gift shop
Cafe Osage

Pi Pizza

Bar Italia

and our last stop
Bissinger's Chocolate

Once we were stuffed it was off to the spa

after we were all feeling refreshed we grabbed a coffee and did a little shopping

At this point we were FREEZING, I cannot even begin to tell you how cold it was on Saturday.  I hope this is no indication of the winter we have ahead of us.  We decided  the best thing to do was to warm up at the Whiskey House

cheers to girlfriends, birthdays, and great weekends!!

Whirl Wind Recap

I am coming off of one of the best weekends I have had in a long time. Non stop fun, lots of visits with old and new friends, and many many laughs.

We arrived in Chicago late Friday morning, checked into our hotel, met up with our friends for lunch, did a little shopping, then I was off. I got a chance to spend a couple of hours with Heather on Friday and celebrate her birthday. Heather and I actually met because of our blogs, but I knew from the first time she left me a comment that we would have to meet in person and that we would be great friends!
I got back to the hotel, did a quick outfit change then it was time to celebrate another birthday with this fabulous group of friends. Steak dinner at Joe's...
then off to the bars.... we travel in style

late night cocktails at the rooftop bar at the The Witt Hotel.

One last time together Saturday morning.

After a late brunch it was time to head home, we had friends coming into town and a party to throw. We made it home by 4 with not much time to spare, the shower started at 7....and at 3 am we were still going strong having a "dance off" in my family room.

My sweet friend Katie, and my roommate years ago when I moved back to St. Louis, came to town for the shower. Katie and her family spent the night Saturday, we joked it was like the good old days when we were roommates. I am so sad I did not take many pictures Saturday night, that wine can be so distracting!!

My weekend was good times with good friends, but I am still paying the price today!!
