Beauty Buzz

Whenever I learn a great beauty tip I love to pass it along.  Today I am passing along my latest and greatest find.  A couple weeks ago I was with my tennis girls and we were discussing beauty products when 2 of my friends ranted and raved about a skin care line they both use and love..

I had never heard of the line Acure but they swore it was as good as the La Mer line at a fraction of the cost.  So of course the next day I raced to Whole Foods, (I know when I think of buying my skin care line at the same place I buy chicken... ick) and decided what the hell I will try this.  I decided to go whole hog, I bought

the cleanser....

the scrub...

the day cream...

and the night cream,
which is my favorite.  I wake up feeling like my face has tightened up yet it is still hydrated.

I think you have to try a lot of products before you find the one that works with your skin.  Would I recommend this product, absolutely,  but what sealed the deal for me was when my sister asked if I had done something different to my face, like botox.

Best Face Forward

Every summer while in Holland Michigan for family week, my sisters in law and I have a spa day at a little boutique spa called Smooch. We go to lunch then head over to Smooch for facials. At smooch you can also get make-overs and buy many products, it is like a mini Sephora. Last week I discovered a new product from Stila, "one step correct" this is a moisturizer, corrector, primer, and brightener all in one extremely cute package. I also bought some dry shampoo. I am a big fan of dry shampoo. I have long, thick hair so every time I wash, I have to blow dry my hair until it is completely dry or else I have swampy, stringy hair. This start to finish process can take up to an hour and a half, seriously who has that kind of time. Stila to the rescue, sprinkle some of the sweet smelling powder right on your roots, give your hair a toss, then head out the door.

Hair and Nails

Yesterday was all about hair, nails, and getting things done. First up was to schedule my appointment for my "summer hair" as I like to call it. Summer hair is essentially highlights. I personally like it when my roots match the rest of my hair. Anyone who gets highlights on a regular basis knows that the timing is everything. My brother in law is getting married Memorial Day weekend, so the timing of my highlights has to be perfect. I also restocked with my favorite shampoo/conditioner..Frederic Fekkai "Glossing" this is the best, it smells so goods and leaves my hair feeling so silky. I love that I can now also buy Frederic Fekkai at Target, seriously, you can buy just about everything there. Next up was to pick out a nail color. I usually wear a pretty clear color on my nails. I love to wear a dark color, but the minute you get a tiny knick on your nails they look really bad. I bought a bottle of OPI "I pink I love you" this will be the perfect color to wear also for the "wedding weekend" it will go with all the different outfits for all the wedding festivities. Now I just need to find some cute shoes

The Scent of Summer

With Spring in full swing it is time to get out my favorite scent for this time of year. I just LOVE Bobbi Brown "Beach" you really smell like you are GOING to spend the day at the beach, not the scent you have AFTER a day at the beach. I love the perfume but the body oil is perfect to hydrate my skin after a long winter. If you have never smelled "Beach" I highly recommend high tailing it to Saks and checking it out

The Best Hair Dryer EVER

If you happen to live by a Beauty First, you need to run to the closest one. This week they are running a special on the pink FHI hair dryer . This dryer is usually $150 but for one week you can get it for $50. If you have long hair like I do you know how important a good hair dryer is and in my opinion this one really is the best. I promise you will have THE best looking hair.
