Despite the freezing temperatures and snow we managed to have a great weekend. Friday night was dinner with the kids and 5 other families (complete chaos but so much fun) and Saturday night we had a birthday party for one of our friends. Too much wine and too much dancing!!
Chocolate Pear Tart
1 stick of butter
1 c white almonds
3/4 c sugar
3 eggs
2/3 c cocoa
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp almond extract
2 cans of pears in syrup
2 tbsp apple jelly
Preheat oven to 350, and brush a 9 inch removable bottom tart pan with butter.
In a food processor combine almonds and sugar. Process until smooth, add butter, eggs, cocoa, vanilla, salt and slmond extract. Spread into the pan.
Slice the pears and arrange on top of the chocolate crust, overlap the pears. Bake 45-50 minutes. Heat jelly on the stove and brush on top of the pears when the tart comes out of the oven. enjoy
This is a great dessert for when you have last minute dinner guests, so easy and so quick
Bon appetit!
