Stepping Out

We've had a mini heat wave here in STL. Temperatures are back in the high 80's. The last tease before the cold sets in. The warm temperatures in mid-October make it very hard to dress. It's officially Fall, yet by mid afternoon I am ready to jump in a pool. These photo's taken of an uber stylish girl in NYC last month, have me drooling over what I want to wear...

Come Fly With Me

I have a new, favorite show this fall and surprisingly it is not a reality show. I am hooked on Pan Am. This show follows the lives of pilots and flight attendants in the 60's when Pan Am was a global sensation, the employees led extremely glamourous lives, and flying was considered the ultimate luxury...
Before watching this show, I never gave much thought to 60's fashion. Now, I don't know what I am more excited about the story line, or the hair, jewelry and fashion...
I am smitten with the 60's look, so polished and put together...

they even look so glamourous at work...love the gloves...

my favorite character Bridget, whom I don't think is a regular, has such great style...
In the 60's, people actually got dressed to the nines when flying, today it looks like half the people on planes just rolled out of bed and schlepped to the airport..

Butter, Butter and More Butter

Over the weekend I was making a quick trek through Nordstrom when something caught my eye...

I was instantly smitten with the choice of colors and the thickness of the polish...

this polish just looks and feels so rich. This the perfect polish to use when I am giving my nails a shellac break..

I am all about a little sparkle, even down to my finger nails...
and in honor of the new Princess, they have a color just for her....

Girl Friday

My entire weekend is going to be all about food, luckily it is good food! Friday night I am going on a double date. Me and Dr. Beautiful are going out with my new doubles tennis partner and her hubby. They just moved here from NYC, we are going out to dinner at one of my favorite spots in the city...
the food is amazing...
the chef is a James Beard winner

Saturday night, meeting up with more friends to check out a new restaurant that just opened...
Sunday, a trip to the apple orchard for some apple picking. I plan on making good use of my apples...apple pie...
and caramel apples..

with all this eating, I better make some time for this...

Take Me Away

Yesterday was one of those days where I wanted to stay in my p.j's, drink coffee, and maybe indulge in a hot bubble bath. These bathrooms I found on houzz would definitely fit the bill for a sublime soak....

I would love to sit here after my bath, and brush my hair...

this bathroom has a zen feel, perfect for those days when you just feel "off"...
I would just lay in my tub and stare out the window all the live long day....

this is my all time favorite bathroom, the only thing I would change would be the window treatments, take down the roman shades and maybe...put up some beautiful, thick, silk taffeta panels
and a vase of rosemary for relaxation.
Calgon, take me away!! Do they still even make Calgon??

The Black Hole

I am sure by now, everyone has been to pinterest, or what I like to call "the black hole of time management." I will get on the website, and before I know it, hours have passed. Last week, I suddenly became obsessed with all the Fall treats that are up and ready to be "repined." There is something about a cold Fall day that just makes me want to stay in and whip up something fabulous. I actually think I gained 10 pounds just writing this.

Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins.. I actually made these for my neighbor who just had a baby, amazing!!
Of course we should wash down all the goodness with a big ol cup of this....

Mrs Molly

My girl, Molly Sims, was married September 24th at a beautiful vineyard in Napa Valley. Being that she is a super model and former SI cover girl, I expected nothing but perfection from her. I finally saw pictures, and she did not disappoint....

Molly is 38, I thought this dress was so perfect for her age. I think it would be hard to pull off a big tulle, embellished, ballerina style dress in your late 30's...
I am obsessed with her hair. I have a formal event in November and I am thinking about copying her hairstyle..
look how happy she was when she was officially declared "married"...

I love the fact that each bridesmaid had the liberty to choose their own personal style of dress in the taupe/champagne family...

There is nothing more beautiful than a blissfully happy bride!
