It's in the bag!

Our pool officially opened on Saturday so I knew it was time to pack my pool bag with my summer essentials......My Ray Ban aviators, I never leave home without them
Tory Burch flip flops, my absolute favorite flip flops. So comfortable plus the gold little emblem is so cute.

Oil of Olay Complete. My dermatologist told me years ago that this was the best lotion for your face because it has both a spf factor and zinc oxide. He told me that I could waste my time and money on other products but in the end I would find that this was the best. I took his advice and have never bothered with anything else.
Protection for my body, this one smells the best.
Gotta protect the little ones too!I always forget my lips and they always get burned. This year I am ready, a spf lip balm is in my bag.

My summer reading, highly recommended by a friend. My summer playlist is downloaded and ready to go.
My wide rimmed hat for the days when it is just too hot or I've had too much sun.
The other days, my lulu lemon headband to keep my hair out of my face. These are hands down the absolute best headbands. Our STL store cannot keep these in stock. The minute they get a new shipment of headbands the word spreads like wildfire.

If I am feeling a little glam, or just don't want to get my hair wet, I will put my hair up with this twisty. After a day at the pool, I wash my hair with Frederic Fekkai's Marine Summer Hair line. This line will remove any chlorine left behind, plus repair and protect the hair from any sun damage.

My tan extender...I want to still be tan in October!
My all time favorite lotion and perfume, Bobbi Brown Beach. This perfume smells like coconut, suntan lotion, and the beach..but the good smelling beach, not the end of the day, sweaty, dirty beach. Next time you pass a Bobbi Brown counter you must smell this, you will love it. She really has bottled summer.I think I am ready for summer!

Since tomorrow is the last full day of school for my kids, today is my day of fun. Once a year, before summer vacation begins, I get together with my girls for an afternoon of fun. No kids, no husbands, just us girls.

we have lunch poolside....
we indulge in some fruity cocktails...
we have our last moment of calm before the chaos of summer begins!!
Here comes summer!!

The beautiful Sheridan French is a model/fashion designer/sassy momma/woman extraordinaire. I first saw her line a couple months ago and I was instantly smitten!!
I am in love with these dresses, just perfect for a warm summer day!!

In addition to her clothing line, I was thrilled when Your Style Scout clued me into Sheridan's fabulous blog. I think I have my new go-to dresses for the summer!!

Inspiration

When we moved into our house a little over a year ago, I loved everything about our new home, except our kitchen. The appliances were cream, the countertops green formica, and the cabinets a light pine stain. We are slowly making changes to our kitchen. First up was to replace the cream appliances with stainless steel. Next was to put in granite countertops, and now it is time to tackle the cabinets....The following kitchens have been my inspiration when deciding what to do. I originally planned on white cabinets with a caramel glaze. I also knew I wanted to incorporate blue into my color scheme. I was thinking the backsplash would be the perfect spot for a touch of blue.

And then I started seeing blue cabinets and everything changed.

I decided over the weekend to go with blue cabinets. After looking and looking at hundreds of different shades of blue cabinets here is the "one." I am a little nervous to do blue cabinets, but I know in the end I will absolutely love it. I like the fact that I don't know anyone that has blue cabinets, that was my hesitation with the white, my kitchen would ultimately look like everyone else's.
Now if I can just get my contractor to call me back!

If you want to participate in something fun this week, go visit Cool Gal (you might get my name!)

Miss Libs

A couple weekends ago, Libby made her First Communion. In honor of her special day I took her to get her ears pierced the day before the big event. I warned her....beauty is pain!
It was well worth the pain
The morning of... hair and make up.

putting on the finishing touches...

A party in honor of Libby...
It was a beautiful day!

The Belt Bag

The fanny pack is back, but with an updated look and a new name, "the belt bag." I am actually digging the belt bag. Next week I am taking my kids to 6 Flags, with all the roller coasters and fast rides I cannot be lugging around my typical extra large bag, I think a belt bag would be perfect. I can carry money, cell phone and lipstick, that's really all a girl needs!! Here are some of my favorites.....

Gucci...Hermes...

Louis Vuitton...

A more fiscally responsible belt bag would be this one from lululemon...
or my personal favorite... the Urban Outfitters Tassel Belt Bag

Rih Rih rocken the belt bag! Love it!!
